SUMMARY:2020 Bluewater Tackle World Marlin Cup
DESCRIPTION:Tournament Committee Welcome                 Welcome to the 2020 Bluewater Tackle World Marlin Cup\, to be held in the waters surrounding Rottnest Island between 14th and 16th of February. The three-day tournament begins with a briefing night at Bluewater Tackle World Myaree on Tuesday the 12th of February. At least one member of each crew must attend. The presentation night on Tuesday 19th is a good time for friends and family to come along and join in a Club activity.  This is a WAGFA Sanctioned open tournament with an emphasis on tag and release. All competitors must be a member of a GFAA affiliated club. This event is a standalone event\, however\, points earned will be included toward the PGFC Club Championship for members.  This heavy tackle billfish event has a minimum line class of 15kg and all scoring billfish need to exceed line class. There are also awards for other gamefish species so competition on light tackle will be keen. Scoring is based on the best two day aggregate scores for each boat and angler. The Marlin Cup will be awarded for the highest point scoring boat – billfish only. Other great prizes are included for other species.  The PGFC Committee has decided to again reduce the entry costs for competitors and in so doing has eliminated any organised meals at the island. Event apparel will not be included but there will be a grab bag of sponsor products.  Pens on the Rottnest Fuel Jetty have been reserved for competitors – please check with the organisers for availability\, they must be reserved by 25th January to satisfy the Rottnest Island Authority’s requirements. Camaraderie on the jetty is encouraged and members are free to make their own meal arrangements  One last thing\, new members and crews to the Club or the tournament will be welcomed and are encouraged to freely ask any questions they may have before and during the event. LATE NEWS: PRESENTATION NIGHT BONUS  PGFC is pleased to advise that well known and very successful On Strike Charters skipper Josh Bruynzeel will be competing in the event and will be helping out with the awards on the evening. On Strike Charters have been a strong supporter of PGFC for many years and as many members could attest have a great reputation for billfishing.  Josh will then be giving a presentation outlining his experience and knowledge of   game fishing in general and Exmouth in particular.  His emphasis is will be on:     Rigging and baiting   Equipment   Tagging and free release   Electronics   Techniques      Adequate time for questions will be allowed. As usual all members and friends are welcome

With the salmon fishing starting up in Cockburn Sound and the FADs still deployed and holding plenty of mahi mahi\, this comp creates a great opportunity for the ladies and littlies to get out on the water and try their luck.  Bluewater Tackle World\, Halco Lures and Richter Lures prizes will be included in the awards.  Catering has been organised for the weigh-in.                                                                            More about the Procedures:     Fishing times are 0600 to 1500 Sat 11th May   All captures must be submitted via a photo on an approved brag mat (Shimano or IGFA) on the day to the weigh-master between 1530 and 1630hrs at RPYC Annexe\,   Anglers must be current female or junior members of PGFC to be eligible for prizes in the members event.   Regular PGFC angling rules and point scoring methods will apply\, excluding meritorious fish awards.   Other boat crew need not be female or junior.   Visiting anglers may use any tackle and line.   Visitors welcome to fish for an award in the species categories which will be decided by longest fork length.
